# Mobile Authenticator Setup

**Purpose:**

This feature enhances account security by requiring users who log in to set up a mobile authenticator (TOTP-based 2FA). This ensures strong protection against unauthorized access.

***

### 🚀 When It's Triggered

This screen is triggered **immediately after a user logs in**, if they haven't yet completed mobile authenticator setup.

#### 📝 Step-by-Step Guide

1️⃣ **Step 1:** Install an Authenticator App

> Download and install one of the following apps on your mobile device:

* **FreeOTP**
* **Google Authenticator**

2️⃣ **Step 2:** Scan the QR Code

> Open the authenticator app and use it to scan the barcode displayed on screen.

> 🔄 Can't scan the QR code? Click “Unable to scan?” to enter the code manually.

3️⃣ **Step 3:** Enter the One-Time Code

> After scanning, your app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter it into the One-time code field.

4️⃣ **Step 4:** Name Your Device

> Provide a Device Name (e.g., "iPhone 13", "Work phone") to help you manage multiple OTP devices later.

5️⃣ **Step 5:** Submit

> Click Submit to complete your authenticator setup.

✅ From now on, this authenticator will be required for login verification.

#### ✅ Validation Rules

* **One-time code** must be exactly 6 digits and match the one currently generated by your authenticator app.
* **Device Name** is optional, but recommended for device management.
