# Create a picking task wave

*A picking task wave allows warehouse staff to group multiple orders or consignments into a single picking batch.*

You can only Create a picking task wave when OC has ***Preparing*** status

1. Select one or more consignments/orders from the list.

2. Click **Create Picking Task Wave** in the bottom right corner.

3. A confirmation modal will appear, displaying a summary of the picking task.

| Field              | Description                                                                        |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Weight**         | Total weight of all items in the picking wave.                                     |
| **Volume**         | Total volume of all items in the wave.                                             |
| **SKU Types**      | Number of unique SKUs included.                                                    |
| **Quantity (Qty)** | Total quantity of items to be picked.                                              |
| **Type**           | Picking type: `SO` (Single Order), `MO` (MultipleOrder), or `Spectical` (Special). |
| **Locations**      | Storage locations of the SKUs to be picked.                                        |
| **Channel**        | Courier shipments associated with the orders.                                      |

4. Review the details.
5. Click **Submit** to confirm.

Once submitted, the consignment/order status will automatically update to **Picking**.
